Dr. Anna SCIAZKO

Dr. Anna SCIAZKO is a Lecturer and UTokyo Excellent Young Researcher at the Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo (Japan). From 2024 she leads the Laboratory of Thermal and Electrochemical Processes Engineering. She received her Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland), under a double-degree program with Shibaura Institute of Technology (Japan). Her interdisciplinary background also includes studies and research experience in computer science, energy engineering, and renewable energy in Poland, Iceland and Switzerland.

Her research focuses on thermal and electrochemical processes in energy conversion systems, particularly solid oxide cells, hydrogen technologies, porous materials, and microstructure-performance relationships. She combines experimental characterization, three-dimensional microstructural analysis, numerical modelling, and machine learning to understand degradation mechanisms and improve the performance and durability of electrochemical devices.

Dr. Sciazko was selected as a participant of the Asian Deans’ Forum – The Rising Stars Women in Engineering Workshop 2024. Her current work aims to connect transport phenomena, materials engineering, and data-driven modelling for more efficient and durable sustainable energy technologies.
