Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Dr. Sisi Jian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). She obtained her Ph.D. in transportation network planning from New South Wales University (UNSW Sydney) in 2017. Dr. Sisi Jian’s research focuses on network optimization, game theoretic modeling and demand modeling for emerging transport systems, especially on shared mobility systems and multimodal transport networks. Her research contributions include the development of network planning models and demand models for carsharing systems, market equilibrium computation, network planning and optimization models for multimodal transport systems. Over past years, her research activities have been sponsored by Hong Kong Research Grant Council, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Australian Research Council and other international funding sources such Ford Company and Transport for New South Wales. Her research results have been published in top-ranking peer-reviewed transportation journals, including Transportation Research Part A, B, C, D, E. She was nominated for the Rising Stars: Women in Engineering (Asia) Workshop in 2018, and won the Best Presentation Award in the 4th International Symposium on Multimodal Transportation.
