Prof. Kyoko Nozaki

Kyoko Nozaki was born in Osaka, Japan, and graduated from Kyoto University with a B.Sc. degree in 1986. She received her Doctor degree in 1991 from the same university majoring in Industrial Chemistry. During her doctor course study, she joined Department of Chemistry at University of California, Berkeley, as an exchange student for one year in 1988. Since 1991, she has been a faculty member at Kyoto University and has been Professor at the University of Tokyo since 2003. Her research interests are focused on the development of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts for polymer synthesis and organic synthesis. Her achievements have been recognized as IUPAC 2021 Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards in 2021, and The Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2022. Since 2021, she has been International Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
