Ir Prof. WANG Yu-Hsing received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from NTU Taiwan University and his Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received the George F. Sowers Distinguished Graduate Student Award. He is a Professional Geotechnical Engineer in Taiwan and a Fellow of both HKIE and ASCE.
Prof. Wang is currently Director of the Center for Engineering Education Innovation (E2I) in the School of Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where he leads initiatives in AI and Physical AI education, experiential learning for the AI–robotics era, and interdisciplinary engineering education. He is also a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Founder and Director of the Data-Enabled Scalable Research (DESR) Laboratory. His research integrates IoT, AI, and robotics to develop innovative solutions for smart and resilient cities.
His honors include the ASTM International Hogentogler Award, the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Department of Civil Engineering at NTU Taiwan University, and two HKUST School of Engineering Teaching Awards. He has delivered keynote and theme lectures at international conferences and served as an associate editor and editorial board member for several journals.
