Research focuses on additive manufacturing and welding of advanced metallic materials. Combined simulation and experimental approaches are adopted to address fundamental scientific challenges in high-quality forming and fabrication of high-strength aluminum alloys, crack-prone nickel-based superalloys, dissimilar metals, etc.

 

Over 70 academic papers published.

 

Recipient of the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, the First and Second Prizes of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award, and the McKay-Helm Award of the American Welding Society.
