Prof. LIN Hsin-Tien
Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering
NTU Taiwan University
Dr. LIN Hsin-Tien is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NTU Taiwan University and President of the Taiwan Life Cycle Assessment Society. Her research focuses on advancing sustainability through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), circular economy, and sustainable product and system design. Her work integrates engineering, environmental science, and sustainability transitions to evaluate and redesign products, infrastructures, and socio-technical systems across their entire life cycles.
In recent years, her research has increasingly focused on designing circular systems that minimize environmental burdens at the source by combining life cycle thinking with product design, business model innovation, and policy interventions. Her group develops decision-support methods that bridge engineering design with environmental performance assessment, contributing to more resilient and resource-efficient systems.
Dr. Lin actively collaborates with researchers on interdisciplinary projects related to life cycle sustainability assessment, circular economy, industrial ecology, sustainable engineering, and environmental systems analysis. She welcomes opportunities for international research collaboration, joint projects, visiting scholars, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate student exchanges.
