Seung Ah LEE is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University, where she leads the Imaging Intelligence Lab. She earned her B.S. (2007) and M.S. (2009) in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University and her Ph.D. (2014) in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. After her doctorate, Seung Ah worked at Stanford University, Google X, and Verily Life Sciences as a postdoctoral researcher and research scientist, contributing to advanced medical-imaging technologies. From 2018 to 2025 she served as Assistant and then Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University. Her research combines computational optics and artificial intelligence to develop next-generation phase-imaging microscopes and lens-free ultra compact cameras for applications ranging from biomedicine to smart robotics. She is an Associate Editor of Optics Express and Advanced Imaging, General Chair of the Optica Imaging Congress COSI meeting, and conference chair of Computational optical Imaging and AI conference in Photonics West BIOS.
