Dr. Xiangdong Chen

Dr. Xiangdong Chen is a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore and holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University. Her research spans intelligent and automated traffic control, traffic flow modeling and optimization, and cooperative vehicle-infrastructure systems. She is the 2024 recipient of the HKSTS Outstanding Dissertation Award, the most prestigious dissertation award in the field of transportation science, and one of only two female recipients in the past two decades. Dr. Chen has authored over 20 papers in top-tier journals such as Transportation Science and the Transportation Research series (Part B, C, and E), and her research has been recognized with Best Paper Awards at international conferences including CICTP and CTS. She has been invited to present at leading academic forums worldwide, including TRB-AM, SWIT, and EURO. She has also contributed to international research projects spanning China, Singapore, Germany, and Japan, and actively serves as a reviewer for leading transportation journals.
