My research focuses on the design, synthesis, and application of advanced polymeric materials with an emphasis on sustainability and industrial impact. During my PhD, I developed polymeric nanocomposites based on graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides, creating multifunctional materials with enhanced structural and functional properties. This work established a strong foundation in nanomaterials chemistry, polymer synthesis, and structure– property relationships. As a postdoctoral fellow, I collaborated with Nitto Belgium on the development of environmentally friendly, thermally conductive, and electrically insulating pressure-sensitive adhesives. This project combined polymer design, materials characterization, and industrial translation, resulting in adhesives tailored for high-performance electronic applications while minimizing environmental impact. Currently, my research is directed toward the synthesis of sustainable polymers for food packaging applications, in partnership with industry. This work explores biomass-derived monomers and biodegradable polymer systems to address global challenges such as plastic waste and microplastic pollution. By integrating renewable resources, green chemistry approaches, and advanced polymerization strategies, my research contributes to the development of next-generation materials that balance functionality, performance, and environmental responsibility. Overall, my research portfolio spans nanocomposites, adhesives, and sustainable polymers, unified by a focus on innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in materials science.
