Zhao Siyan is a Senior Research Fellow in Environmental Microbiology at the National University of Singapore. With a strong foundation in Biotechnology from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and advanced training in Environmental Engineering from NUS, she is committed to pioneering sustainable and cost-effective solutions for addressing some of the world's most critical environmental challenges. Her research leverages state-of-the-art technologies, including integrated cultivation, advanced biochemical analysis, and multi-omics approaches, to unravel the complexities of novel microorganisms and their bioprocesses. Zhao’s groundbreaking work is focused on developing transformative microbial strategies to combat persistent organic pollutants and emerging contaminants, driving impactful advancements in environmental protection and sustainability.
