Ms. Dan Zhu

PhD Candidate

National University of Singapore

Dr. Zhu Dan is a research fellow with a PhD in Industrial Systems Engineering and Management from the National University of Singapore. Her doctoral research focused on equitable transportation network design with Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), contributing significantly to the planning and development of equitable infrastructure to support emerging CAV technologies. This includes pioneering work on the design of CAV platoonable corridors and signal-free smart intersections, aimed at enhancing traffic efficiency and ensuring equitable access for both CAV and HV users.

Currently, Dr. Zhu Dan has expanded her research from mixed traffic systems to address other pressing challenges, such as senior mobility and urban air mobility. Her work includes designing home healthcare centers that improve healthcare access for seniors and developing vertiport planning strategies to construct a three-dimensional transportation network for future urban air mobility. Additionally, she is exploring the use of advanced machine learning techniques to predict traffic congestion and model destination choice behavior, seeking to address key urban mobility challenges with data-driven insights.

Dr. Zhu Dan has published extensively in leading academic journals, including Transportation Research Part C, European Journal of Operational Research, and Transport Policy. Her contributions have been widely recognized for their impact on transportation systems, equity, and urban mobility planning.
