Dr. Fitri Widhiastuti
Research Associate
University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney
I am currently a postdoctoral research associate at UNSW’s Algal Organic Matter (AOM) Laboratory, where I focus on identifying cyanotoxins and developing innovative biosensor applications for water quality monitoring.
My journey began with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from RMIT University, followed by a postdoctoral research collaboration with a Victorian water utility. These experiences honed my expertise in water and wastewater treatment, including advanced oxidation, nutrient removal, and emerging contaminant control.
Beyond research, I am deeply committed to fostering a love for STEMM, particularly among young girls. I actively engage in outreach programs, sharing my passion for science through school visits.
