Dr. Yian Wang
Post-doctoral Fellow
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Yian WANG received her B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Wake Forest University in 2017, M.Sc. degree in Energy Science, Technology and Policy from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018, and Ph.D. degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2023. She is now a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at HKUST. Her research focuses on the theoretical computations of electrocatalytic materials, reactions and systems, using density functional theory and ab initio molecular dynamics. Her work aims to investigate reaction mechanisms and develop high-performance catalysts for electrochemical processes such as fuel cells and ammonia synthesis. She has published over 10 journal papers, and has been recognized by multiple awards and honors, including the RedBird Academic Excellence Award from HKUST and the RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong.
