After the successful inaugural workshop in 2018, the College of Engineering at Seoul National University is very proud to organize and host the 2019 Rising Stars - Women in Engineering Workshop. Our college has long valued and supported diversity amongst its faculty and student body, and we sincerely hope that this workshop will guide and encourage its participants on their career paths to become our future women academic leaders.

Enhancing the mobility of researchers and students among Asian universities is one of the main objectives of the Asian Deans’ Forum, inaugurated by UTokyo in May 2016. HKUST hosted the first Rising Star Women in Engineering Workshop under this framework in October 2018. This year SNU succeeds the endeavour. Active participation of women is one of the important keys in strengthening academia that will lead innovation in the Asian region. We are proud to support these efforts.
