Prof Chung obtained her BS and MS from the Department of Civil, Urban and Geosystem Engineering at Seoul National University in South Korea in 2002 and PhD at Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States majoring in Environmental Engineering. Her research started from the fundamental study of the micro- or nano-scopic phenomena in colloid and surface science but, currently focuses more on the environmental applications such the resource recovery while solving environmental problems or scaling control in the geothermal power plant system.
